"Agreeing to participate in this years DWTS event was an easy
decision. I am honoured to offer my time for the DMMF which is a
wonderful cause and I also knew that Pete and I would have a blast
dancing together."
| "I knew and worked with Brent Poland. Brent's older brother Mark and I started military officer training in 1989 and worked together on many occasions from Ipperwash to Yugoslavia so it was an honor to be asked to participate in this event. This is an opportunity to learn and do something different. I seldom pass up new experiences and after all, my Partner is Victoria Loucks..."

"Dave and I came and watched the competition last year and we had a great time! I respect the cause and really admired the crazy awesome people who got up there and danced. The event, along with it's organizers have inspired me to do more and give more.
(I should also add that my husband Dave begged me ALL year to do this. He has Dance Fever....and insists on being called Disco-Dave..true story;)" | "Two words really...My Wife. ;-) After reading Dayna's response to this question, I started thinking back to our drive home after last years event. I think the conversation went like this...DAYNA: Baby would you do something like that? DAVE: Umm I don't know..it's kinda of (Cut off); DAYNA: Too late I already sent an email to Celeste and we're dancing next year; DAVE: Really?; DAYNA: Really!.... Now that's a true story. In all seriousness, it is a great cause and both Dayna and I are looking forward to having a great time, and making fools of ourselves. Not to mention I have the best partner. Dayna is awesome and we're creating some memorable moments practicing for the big night. I just hope the Paparazzi stay away for once...hahaha."

"How could I turn down an experience like this...The foundation is for a great cause and I look forward to helping raise money for it.
I first met Dave 7 years ago. He picked me up at my high school to take me out on a ride-along so I could see if policing was the career for me. I continued to do ride-alongs with Dave until I began college. Dave helped shape me into the Police Officer I am today. Dave's legacy lives on through the foundation." | "Why? I knew Dave and worked with him, my detachment area borders on Huron. I am participating to honour Dave's memory. Also, I obviously feel compelled to embarrass myself in front of large groups of my peers, family and friends." |
"I am honoured to be involved with this year's "Dancing with the Stars". It is giving me a way to pay respect to all those officers, firefighters, paramedics and soldiers who have given their lives in the line of duty. It is also allowing me to show my support for all their family and friends."
| "I agreed to be a dancer because Patrick told me that I was hand-picked.....seriously when I was asked if I was interested in becoming a dancer, it was an easy answer. I've never danced before in my life besides at high school dances, this is such a good cause....It was an easy decision."

"When asked to participate, I was under the impression that I would be dancing with the sexy Maksim Cherkovskiy. I soon learned my partner was Kevin Howe. Well, what can I say, Kevin, Kevin, Kevin……..
Kevin has repetitively stated from the beginning, I quote, “ if we can pull this off it will be spectacular and if we can’t YOU will have some huge medical expenses!” Well, what a blast it has been so far! Max has got nothing on you Kevin! It’s frightening but I’m fortunate to be allowed the opportunity to participate in such a special event “Dancing with the Stars of the OPP.” Thank you." | "Why oh why would I do this, I have asked myself this many times lately! But too be honest I believe life is too short, we must live it to the fullest, take challenges and put ourselves out there for the causes and things that truly mean something. The DMMF is just another great example of people coming together to help others, and my plan is to shake what my mama gave me and let Heather do all the work!! LOL! :)"

"I agreed to participate in the OPP Dancing with the Stars because at the
time it didn't seem as scary as it is now!! I attended the event last year and had a great time, then thought it would be fun to do something WAY outside my comfort zone. My co worker thought so too and volunteered me to Celeste. What is really funny is that I have begged my husband for 18years for dance lessons and now I am getting them......with a STRANGER as my partner lol! I am honoured to be involved in this fundraiser as I worked with Dave Mounsey in Simcoe years ago when he started with the OPP. I always loved his sense of humour but also his sense of community, so it only seems fitting to honour him by participating in this night to keep his memory alive." | "I wanted to Dance last year but wasn't sure if I had the time, this year I decided to make the time and be part of something bigger than myself. I'm learning something new, adding a little excitement to my life and meeting new people. Why wouldn't I do it?"

"Great cause, great fun, and a man brave enough to step up as my dance partner!!
Besides ... anyone who says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain. (Author Unknown)" Me | "I guess hearing the level of excitement in my partner's voice when she spoke about wanting to participate. I then took the idea home and discussed it with my wife and she said that I had to do it! I think that she is looking forward to a good laugh!! Well, I'm going to try to prove her wrong. Seriously, it is a great cause and Dave was a great guy. I hope that the Dave Mounsey Memorial Fund has great success with their upcoming events, including Dancing with the Stars!"

"Our reason for participating in this event is this: first, Rob is making me do this - ha ha - just kidding!! We thought it was for a very worthy cause, we've always wanted to take dance lessons so here's our chance & it gives us one more thing to do together!! Thanks!" Marla
| "Being with Crime Stoppers I am charity oriented and it was a quick yes for me when I was asked to help raise money for this charity. Also it is an opportunity for Marla and I to spend some quality time together. We had always talked about taking dance lessons together and now we can do that while working for a great cause."
